Well the world of Salaric Fashion anyway 🙂
Here at Salaric we love to design things – not so hot on the following fashions but there have been a few trend setters at least on the small scale. I personally grew up in a house where making and designing your own cloths was the norm, my mother would make wedding dresses and ball gowns and my father knitted little baby booties and upholstered furniture and made furniture for the house. My mother would paint funky designs to cheer up old bits of furniture.
As a sailor my grandfather on my mothers side was the best knitter in the family, he needed jumpers for those arctic voyages! My grandmother showed me tatting and other knot tying fun. My paternal grandmother had been a court dress maker with all that that intailed and was always found sewing though towards the end of her life this was difficult due to eye sight and arthritis. She was however still making things when she died at 84 whilst perming her hair!
Though I only have a GCSE in Fine Art and Design I have been creating art and crafts and designing for pretty much my whole life. Alaric has (the other half of Salaric) has a nack for technical drawing and design work too – though he mainly he uses this in his role as a soft ware architect.
